The Ministry of Justice and Community Services of Vanuatu oversees or provides support to the following law-related agencies: the courts (Supreme, Magistrates, Island Courts), the tribunals, the correctional centres, child rights, family protection, disability advocacy and services, empowerment of women, and public prosecution and defense services as well as legal advice to the government. The ministry also supports agencies that review and create new laws and safeguard human rights.

Job Desctiption:
Responsibility to undertake the Ministry's overall objective of building capacity, skills and knowledge in all positions as part of organisational capacity building initiative.

Selection Criteria:
Qualification
Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Human resource Management, Business or Commerce is also preferable
Experience
• 3-5 years experience in medium or large scale organisations
• Analytical thinker, Practical thinker, Innovative thinker
Ability to analyse data and information and prepare analytical reports in
Bislama and English
• Good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to build
rapport and relationship with stakeholders and colleagues
Great coordination skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Presentation skills
Languages
• English and Bislama. French is desirable.

Job Description -The purpose of this position is to:
• Assist in end of month financial reports
• Prepare invoices, bills, accounts payable and receivable
• Complete bank reconciliations and stock reconciliations
• Perform audit in all company offices
• Manage day-to-day transactions and monitor customer accounts
• Control stock inventory for copra, cocoa, cement and other items
• Perform filing and general administrative tasks




Selection Criteria:
Selection criteria - The successful candidate will:
• Hold a degree in Accounts and/or Economics, with a minimum of 3 years work experience
• Have good accounting skills and be able to work under pressure
• Have experience with MYOB

The office objectives are to exercise functions with respect to the valuation of land in Vanuatu, ensure valuation integrity is carried out in Vanuatu, exercise dispute resolutions with regards to land leases in Vanuatu and to ensure the effective operation of the office of the Valuer General to better achieve its Mission,Vision and Objectives through improved physical, human and financial resources and infrastructure.

Job Desctiption:
Duties and responsibilities
The Valuer-General has jurisdiction to determine the following matters:
(a) the amount of rent payable for a lease of land whether originally or on periodic reassessment;
(b) hear and determine disputes relating to the value of improvements on or to land;
(c) hear and determine any matter referred to the Valuer-General by any party to a lease of land relating to the interpretation of a provision in the lease;
(d) deal with any matter which is by any other Act or law directed to be determined by the Valuer-General.
(e) In exercising jurisdiction under section 5(a) and (b) of the Act, the Valuer-General is to act as an expert and not as an arbitrator. The Valuer-General must consider any valuation and reasons submitted to him or her by the parties to an application but is not in any way limited or fettered by that valuation and is to reach his or her decision in accordance with his or her own judgement.
(f) In exercising jurisdiction under section 5(c) and (d), the Valuer-General may act as arbitrator.
(g) Any and all other duties and responsibilities under the law including supervision and development of staff, office processes and procedures

Academic Qualifications
(a) Degree in Land Valuation or related field;
(b) Postgraduate qualification will be an advantage

How does COVID-19 spread?

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales.
