            We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province.
            The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of the “Yumi Redi long Klaemet Jenis” (We’re ready for Climate Change) project, an 18-month project which purpose is to increase the resilience of small island communities to climate change in Tafea Province. 
            You are a strong program manager and leader who is passionate about building communities’  resilience to climate change, have an understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment and a commitment to CARE’s  approach and values including diversity and cultural sensitivity.
            Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include:
            • Lead the implementation and direction of the project in accordance with the community needs, the project documentation, CARE standards and relevant climate change policies and strategies endorsed by the Government of Vanuatu.
            • Ensuring at all times the project is supporting and promoting gender equality and the meaningful engagement of women, girls, youth and people living with a disability.
            • Manage project partner relationships, including the contractual arrangements
            • Represent CARE and the project partners in all relevant forums including at government, province and any inter-agency meetings.
            • Effectively manage the performance of the team as a whole and individually, ensuring expectations and goals are clear and communicated to all team members including any volunteers.
                Criteria:
                • This position is open to Vanuatu Nationals only
                • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field and or at least 5 years experience in implementing resilience programs including Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Livelihoods, Agriculture or general community development
                • Passion for and knowledge of resilience, climate change concepts, approaches,  policies, actors and networks with a focus in Vanuatu and the Pacific
                • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to challenges, to be flexible, and resilient as well as to work effectively in a small, diverse and busy team environment
                • Demonstrated high level organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities and complete assignments within time frames and budgets
                • Project and team management experience and knowledge of the project management cycle. Project management certification such as PMD Pro desired
                • A track record of promoting the participation of women and girls in the projects and activities that you have implemented.

                                          The Child Protection Policy Advisor will assist the Government in the development of policy for children which will be delivered in two Phases being;

                                          1. Phase 1: Development of the National Child Protection Policy supported by an Implementation Strategy including a Monitoring and Evaluation framework and
                                          2. Phase 2: Development of the National Children’s Policy supported by an Implementation Strategy including a Monitoring and Evaluation framework.

                                          The successful candidate will be engaged on a short term contract for a period 32 working days for Phase I with a possible extension of a further 38 working f for Phase 2, dependent on the successful completion of the first phase. 
                                              Criteria:
                                              Essential skills highly required include
                                              • Knowledgeable on children’s rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and issues relating to children currently addressed in the statutory framework
                                              • Proven work experience (3-5 years) in an area related to children and public policy development in the context of Vanuatu
                                              • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in either law, social and gender analysis or development work
                                              • Competency and fluency in the English language. French and Bislama language an advantage and highly desirable
                                              • Experience in report writing and analysis of data 
                                              • Excellent organizational and participatory facilitation skills.
