Job Desctiption:
The Accountant will report to the General Manager and is responsible for accurate and timely financial recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance for Trade Tools Vanuatu. This role manages day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, bank reconciliations, and tax/VAT compliance. The role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with operations to support business decisions and continuous process improvement.
Key duties:
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, A/R, A/P and bank reconciliations
• Assist with preparing monthly financial reports and budgeting
• Process payroll and statutory tax filings
• Support month-end close and liaise with external accountants and auditors
• Maintain accurate ledgers and internal controls
Selection Criteria:
Requirements:
• Diploma/degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• 4+ years in accounting/bookkeeping; retail or distribution experience a plus
• Proficient in excel and ERP systems
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently
