Job Desctiption:
• Oversee and coordinate all vessel maintenance activities to ensure safety, compliance, and operational readiness.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs for fleet vessels, including routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
• 3. Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
• 4. Supervise maintenance teams, including technicians and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for auditing and reporting purposes.
• Coordinate with vessel crews, technical staff, and external service providers for timely maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor vessel performance and diagnose technical issues to prevent breakdowns and optimize efficiency.
• Implement and oversee safety protocols related to maintenance work to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure maintenance quality and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, costs, and vessel condition for senior management.
• Plan for vessel upgrades, modifications, and dry-dockings as needed.
• Ensure proper inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
- Extensive experience (usually 5+ years) in vessel maintenance, marine engineering, or ship management.
- Proven track record in managing maintenance operations on commercial vessels, offshore platforms, or naval ships.
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning and execution.
- Strong knowledge of marine systems and familiarity with maintenance management software.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Specific technical certifications related to ship systems or maintenance
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures.
