Job Desctiption:


Iririki Island Resort & Spa is seeking a suitable candidate to be appointed for the position of DEPARTMENT RELIEF MANAGER. The Department Relief Manager is responsible for temporarily overseeing and supporting various resort departments (such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Activities) during staff absences, peak periods, or operational needs. This role ensures seamless operations, maintains service standards, and delivers an exceptional guest experience in a dynamic island resort environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Step in to manage departments as needed, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
• Supervise and support team members across multiple departments
• Maintain high standards of guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly
• Ensure compliance with resort policies, health & safety regulations, and service standards
• Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, and workforce coordination
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant teams for replenishment
• Support training and onboarding of staff when required
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure operational consistency
• Prepare basic reports and provide feedback to senior management
• Handle emergency situations or unexpected operational challenges efficiently

 

Selection Criteria:

Key Skills & Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
• Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Flexibility to work across different departments and shifts
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, remote island environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards
