Job Desctiption:
The Conferences & Events Assistant supports the planning, coordination and delivery of conferences, meetings, lifestyle events and promotional activities at the Grand Hotel & Casino.
Working closely with the Sales, Food & Beverage, Casino and Front Office teams, the role assists with organising corporate events, social functions and hotel activations while ensuring a high level of guest experience and service.
This position also supports marketing and brand initiatives by capturing event content, assisting with social media engagement, and coordinating promotional activities across the hotel's venues.
The role requires a highly organised, creative and service-focused individual who can manage event logistics, communicate effectively with clients and partners, and contribute to the vibrant events and entertainment offering in Port Vila.
Selection Criteria:
Candidates should demonstrate the following:
Event Coordination Skills – Experience assisting with conferences, events, or hospitality operations.
Strong Organisation – Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines and event logistics with attention to detail.
Communication Skills – Confident communicating with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
Customer Service Focus – Passion for delivering high-quality guest experiences.
Creativity & Marketing Awareness – Ability to support event promotion and create engaging social media content.
Technical Skills – Basic skills in photography, short-form video, and tools such as Canva or similar platforms.
Flexibility – Willingness to work evenings, weekends and during major events when required.
Local Knowledge – Good understanding of activities and entertainment around Efate and Port Vila is an advantage.
