Selection Criteria:
Brief Selection Criteria – Retail Shop Manager (Vanuatu)
Education and experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in retail management or supervisory roles.
- Relevant qualifications in retail, business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
Operations and leadership
- Proven ability to manage store operations, supervise staff, and delegate effectively.
- Strong inventory control, merchandising, and loss prevention skills.
Customer service and sales
- Track record of achieving sales targets and delivering high-quality customer service.
- Ability to train and motivate team to maintain excellent customer experience.
Financial and administrative skills
- BasicP&L understanding, budgeting, cash handling, and reporting.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and retail software; basic computer literacy.
Compliance and safety
- Knowledge of health, safety, and local regulatory requirements; compliance mindset.
- Familiarity with local tax obligations and business regulations in Vanuatu.
Personal attributes
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability, reliability, and strong work ethic; culturally aware and customer-focused.
Language and cultural fit
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Bislama or French an advantage.
- Alignment with local business practices and community norms.
Work authorization
- Eligibility to work in Vanuatu (visa/work permit as required by law).
