Watersports Port Vila operates 4 boats in the Tourism sector. We offer tours from a Semi Submersible, snorkel tours, guided kayaking and a jet boat. We are a leading Adventure Tourism Business.
Job Desctiption:
Reef Explorer Tour Guides are responsible for delivering engaging, informative, and safe tours to visitors aboard the Reef Explorer. Guides will share knowledge about local marine life, coral reefs, and the history of Port Vila Harbour while ensuring guests enjoy a memorable and environmentally responsible experience.
Selection Criteria:
Key Responsibilities,
Conduct guided tours aboard the Reef Explorer.
Operate and assist in handling the semi-submersible vessel under supervision.
Educate guests about coral reefs, fish species, and marine conservation.
Maintain high standards of customer service and safety.
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the boat, including hull and glass panels.
Support snorkel and mask cleaning and equipment preparation.
Promote responsible tourism and environmental awareness.
Training Provided
Successful applicants will complete a 10-day comprehensive training program, including:
Boat Operation and Handling,
Marine Life and Coral Identification,
Port Vila Harbour Navigation and Safety,
Cleaning and Maintenance Procedures,
Tour Script and Customer Interaction,
Practical Training and Mock Tours,
Final Exam and Certification,
All training is conducted by experienced Watersports Port Vila staff, ensuring guides are fully prepared for their role.
Qualifications and Skills
Strong swimming ability and confidence in the water,
Interest in marine life, coral reefs, and environmental conservation,
Excellent communication and presentation skills,
Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude,
Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment,
Previous experience in tourism, guiding, or boating is an advantage but not essential
