Job Desctiption:
The Maintenance General Hand is responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep and smooth operation of the property. This includes performing minor repairs, assisting skilled tradespeople with specialized maintenance tasks, and ensuring that both indoor and outdoor areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained. The role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize disruption to daily operations.
In addition to routine maintenance tasks, the Maintenance General Hand plays a key role in identifying potential hazards, reporting issues, and contributing to a safe and functional environment for staff, guests, and visitors. By maintaining equipment, facilities, and grounds to a high standard, this position helps ensure that the property remains operational, presentable, and efficient, supporting the overall goals and reputation of the organization. Also, will be responsible for undertaking maintenance works as a general hand to ensure that GHC standards are maintained.
Selection Criteria:
Education – Minimum of a high school certificate or equivalent; basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience – Some prior experience 3 to 5 Years in general maintenance, handyman tasks, or facilities support is preferred. Experience in schools, offices, or workplaces is an advantage.
Skills:
-Basic knowledge of repairs, painting, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
-Ability to safely use hand tools and simple equipment.
Physical Ability – Capable of performing manual labor, lifting, and working indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
Work Ethic – Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Safety Awareness – Understanding of basic workplace health and safety practices.
