| | On behalf of our client, The Christensen Fund, we are seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Program Officer for Melanesia to based here in Port Vila. |

| | Position requirements are: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - A graduate degree in an environmental or social science field, along with the knowledge of bio-cultural diversity, stewardship, landscape, resilience, and indigineous peoples. |
| | - Superior written and oral communication skills in English, an ability to work in Tok Pisin and/or other relavant lingua francas like Bahasa or Motu. |
| | - Experience in budgeting and financial statement analysis. |
| | - Well-organized, self-sufficient, and IT-savvy (e.g. Microsoft Office suite and web-based applications including grant making systems) |
| | - Ability to travel as required by the job desciption. |
| | - Demonstrated abiliy to take on multiple roles and effectively manage complex, evolving work enviroonments. Able to manage multiple projects and resources simultaneously, internally and externelly, as well as |
| | personally. Able to manage time and work under pressure. |
| | - Demonstrated commitment to the visions and struggles of local communities in Melanesia to maintain their cultural integrity and environmental heritage. |
| | - Prior employment in an international grantmaking foundation and an understanding of best practices associated with US private foundations highly preferred. |
