Organisation Description:
Wan Smolbag Theatre is a non-governmental organisation based in Port Vila, Vanuatu, founded in 1989 as a small community theatre group. Its mission is to utilise drama and creative media to raise awareness and encourage discussion on critical social issues, including health, education, governance, gender, and environmental conservation.
Over the years, Wan Smolbag has grown into a major development organisation serving the South Pacific. It now operates youth centres in Port Vila and Luganville (Santo), a community center in Pentecost, and runs programs including:
Community Theatre & Media: Produces plays, films, radio programs, and educational materials on topics like hygiene, family planning, gender equality, and climate resilience.
Health Services: Runs youth-friendly reproductive health clinics (e.g., Kam Pusum Hed in Port Vila) and provides STI and contraception education.
Youth Development: Offers sports facilities, nutrition programs, and peer education initiatives.
Environmental Conservation: Coordinates the Vanua-tai turtle monitors network with over 400 volunteers across Vanuatu.
Advocacy & Inclusion: Supports LGBTQI rights through V Pride and disability inclusion through projects like Rainbow Disability Theatre.
Wan Smolbag employs over 120 full-time and part-time staff, including actors, educators, health professionals, and technical specialists, and is core-funded by organisations such as Australian Aid, New Zealand MFAT, and Oxfam. It has produced widely recognised media, including the TV series Love Patrol, and distributes educational resources throughout the Pacific region.
Job Desctiption:
Outward Payment Officer – Finance Department
Based at WSB Takabe, Port Vila, this full-time role is responsible for managing and processing all outgoing payments accurately and on time. The position ensures compliance with financial policies, supports smooth operations, and involves tasks such as verifying payment requests, maintaining records, liaising with banks and suppliers, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance, at least two years' experience in payment processing, and proficiency in MYOB and MS Excel, with strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Minimum 2 years' experience in payment processing or finance operations.
