Job Description
|
As Group, Conference, and
Events (GCE) Sales Coordinator, you will manage the Groups, Conference and
Events Sales office and the on-property Reservations Team to actively convert
customer enquiries into confirmed sales. The Group, Conference, and Events
(GCE) Sales Coordinator will interact frequently with customers and Guests to
learn about their needs and develop relationships from which to earn repeat
and expanded business. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing
the following tasks to the highest standards:
Maximise all Group, Conference, and Event revenue opportunities Review business plans, identify gaps and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity and meet set targets Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments' adherence to achieving that strategy Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market Conduct weekly spot checks of five bookings carried out with a minimum of 90% achieved in any departmental and system audits for any Team Member Ensure the Group, Conference, and Events (GCE) Sales Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts Manage and develop the Group, Conference, and Events (GCE) Organise hotel promotional activities |

Organisation Description
|
Purpose of the Job: The DRR Support Officer’s will support the
implementation and reporting of the disaster preparedness and risk reduction
activity in schools in Santo, Tanna and Vanua-lava.
He or She will be managed
daily by the IYCP Project Supervisor and can beneficiate of the punctual
support of the Branch Officer if needed. He will work in close relationship
with the Disaster Management Team, under the authority of the CEO of the
Vanuatu Red Cross Society (VRCS).
He or she will be in close coordination
with the Red Cross Branch Manager and volunteers dedicated to the different
geographical areas of the project.
He will ensure the project activities are
carried out as planed according to the timeframe allocated for each
activities.
He or she will also provide support caring out interventions in
schools and formulation of a DRR strategy for VRCS in schools and giving
positive inputs on formulating the DRR teachers quite, and the students work
book that will be used as the National school curriculum.

• Work towards the achievement of VRCS objectives in the country/province of operation through effective managerial and lateral relations and teamwork • To promote and respect Red Cross fundamentals principles • Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities • To perform other tasks as may be assigned by the VRCS CEO (up to 10 % of work time might be dedicated to other VRCS activities) • Identify the needs in term of DRR vulnerability in schools in the provinces mentioned above • Manage the implementation and monitor the activities of the program • Coordination and lateral relation • Reporting |

QUALIFICATIONS AND
PROFILE REQUIRED
1. 2 years’ experience in project implementation & Community Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) with Climate Change Adaptation will be an asset. 2. Demonstrated experience and competencies in at least two (2) of the following sectors: • Work in humanitarian field project. • DRR activities (Vulnerability assessment, Risk zoning, emergency plan…). • Community Based Project and or Programs. • Teaching in Primary and Secondary level. • Capacity building/training for youth and community people. • Monitoring and evaluation of projects. • Demonstrate leadership in any working group (Church groups, sports team, school working groups, community working group etc). 3. University graduate in one of these sectors or field related will be an asset; 4. Ability and flexibility to travel regularly, as it will be expected from the recruited person to spend several stays of few weeks in the islands. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED 1. Excellent communication, drafting and presentation skills. 2. Excellent skills in team management, training and facilitation.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills, good records with the DRR key national
institutions.
4. Interest in sharing professional skills as well as learning from others 5. Knowledge of the remote Vanuatu context, in particular of Tafea, Sanma and Torba Province. 6. Excellent in reading and writing in English, Bislama, and French Language. 7. Open-minded, dynamic and flexible. 8. Excellent computer skills (Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook). 9. Driving license required (optional) 10. Knowledge of Red Cross movement will be an asset |
