ETON REEF PRIVATE RESORT – VANUATU
An exciting opportunity is available to lead the team at Eton Reef Private Resort, a boutique private resort located in beautiful Eton, Efate.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager who takes pride in exceptional guest service and can confidently oversee the day-to-day operation of the resort.
KEY DUTIES
• Oversee the daily operation of the entire resort
• Lead, train, roster and supervise resort staff
• Maintain exceptional guest service and presentation standards
• Oversee villa preparation, housekeeping and maintenance
• Manage restaurant and bar operations alongside department staff
• Monitor stock, purchasing and supplier requirements
• Coordinate guest bookings, arrivals, departures and special requests
• Assist with functions, romantic dinners and special resort experiences
• Ensure workplace health, safety and resort procedures are followed
• Manage staff performance and maintain a positive working environment
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
• Monitor operating costs and assist with budgets and financial controls
• Provide regular reports and updates to the resort owners
• Ensure the grounds, villas, restaurant and guest areas are maintained to a high standard
• Be prepared to work hands-on with the team when required
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, approachable and confident managing both people and resort operations.
Previous hotel, resort, hospitality or management experience is highly regarded.
You must have strong leadership and communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

We are looking for a General Manager who will be visible throughout the resort, lead by example and take genuine pride in making Eton Reef Private Resort an exceptional destination.

Selection Criteria:
We are seeking an experienced, professional and hands-on General Manager with a genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Experience & Skills
Previous experience in resort, hotel or hospitality management is highly desirable.
Proven ability to lead, train, motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong understanding of daily resort operations, including accommodation, housekeeping, restaurant and bar operations, maintenance and guest services.
Excellent organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage budgets, purchasing, stock control, rosters and operational costs.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards throughout the resort.
Confident handling guest enquiries, complaints and special requests professionally.
Must be prepared to be hands-on and lead by example, assisting the team when required.
Experience working in Vanuatu, the South Pacific or a remote/island resort environment would be an advantage.
Language & Communication
Fluent spoken and written English is essential.
Knowledge of Bislama is highly desirable and would be a significant advantage when communicating with local staff, suppliers and the community.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate respectfully with guests, staff, suppliers and resort owners.
Additional languages would be an advantage due to our international guest market.
Above all, we are looking for a General Manager who is approachable, organised, reliable and proactive, with the ability to create a positive team culture while maintaining the high level of service expected at Eton Reef Private Resort.
Salary:
2,704,800 gross annual salary
