Tropical Agency Limited (TAL) are the largest supplier of International Shipping Agency services in Vanuatu with offices in Port Vila and Luganville. TAL manage 75% of all imported cargo and 85% all exported cargo in Vanuatu. TAL is the agent for 6 commercial shipping lines and 6 cruise ship lines.
Job Desctiption:
Manage effective processing of costs on behalf of the shipping line principals ensuring accuracy at the highest level. Preparation and dispatching of Disbursement accounts to the Principals on a timely manner meeting all deadlines. Report/discuss any matters of abnormalities, issues and shortfalls on a regular basis to the Country Manager TAL.
Maintain Fixed Asset register and process depreciation charges. Ensure new additions and disposals are correctly recorded and processed. Maintain both accounting and tax Fixed Asset registers. Process month end accruals and journals for release of prepayments, etc.
Ensure all bank transactions are accurately recorded and all bank accounts are reconciled daily. Assist with preparation of monthly and provide commentary on significant variances to budget. Assist with preparation of forecasts and annual budget. Managing of Accounts Receivables ensuring timely reporting and effective collection. Reporting/ involving Commercial/ Trade for aged outstanding Owner of monthly AR Reporting to the Treasury teams. Managing of Accounts Payables ensuring timely reporting and effective payment process to the vendors. Reviewing of the creditors reconciliation and clearing of any reconciling items within 60days.
Selection Criteria:
Tertiary qualification at degree level in Accounting & Financial Management.
Minimum 3 years' experience in comparable size and scope role, unless promoted internally.
Working proficiency in variety of accounting systems – MOYB preferred.
Experience with online banking systems.
Proven ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with people at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to deal with large volumes of data with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work Independently
Excellent verbal and written communication
Organised and able to meet deadlines
Drivers license - desirable
