        Job Description:
        The Government of the Republic of Vanuatu via the Ministry of Justice and Community Services (MJCS) is seeking to recruit a Ni-Vanuatu Legal personnel to fill the position of Secretary – Law Commission.

        Purpose:
        Position manages the administration of the Vanuatu Law Commission to support the delivery of the Commission’s statutory responsibilities including the management of all human resources and finance. The position also provides secretariat support to the Commission and provides advice to the Chairperson of the Commission on law reform for the Republic of Vanuatu through a consultative approach and through reporting.

        Criteria:
        Qualification
        • A degree in law from a recognized university
        Experience & Skills
        • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in practising law or as a legal drafter
        • Strong research, analysis and investigative skills for policy development and research that facilitates effective contextualised law reform for Vanuatu
        • Ability to think practically, strategically and analytically to support defensible and appropriate policy positions for Vanuatu’s law reform
        • Effective listening, verbal presentation and written communication skills
        • Good team player - has team building skills and ability to build rapport with Judiciary, State Law Office, Secretary of Parliament, justice agencies, professional associations, community groups and other stakeholders
        • Good time management and organisational skills – with ability to work under pressure, prioritise,  and meet deadlines
        • Programme and Project Management skills

        • Computer skills – well suited in Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

              The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce & Industry is looking for a Business Trainer in Accounting and Finance and Business Management for its Training and Business Development Services (BDS) Unit. The Training and BDS Unit scope is to provide business training to entrepreneurs and young people as trainees, and mentoring to entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs to meet the members’ needs and interests.

              Job Requirements:
              The person will conduct business training classes, develop and review training materials under the Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) standards and requirements, offer training services to clients and mentoring services to businesses.

              • Tertiary education, a degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Human Resource Management or similar discipline
              • TAE Certificate 4, Training qualifications under VQA
