Duties and Responsibilities

The Operations Manager is responsible to the General Manager for the coordination and supervision of all operational activities for PASO including the management of the pool of inspectors, work plans, and the overall performance of service delivery. The successful applicant will relate well to people and provide appropriate and timely advice for States to action. The Operations Manager will also be required to undertake work requests based on their qualifications. This role will require extensive travel across the Pacific. 

Organisation & Position Overview

Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO) delivers regional safety oversight services for the Pacific region, providing aviation regulatory oversight services that complement and enhance the member states oversight of their civil aviation activities. Aviation safety and security regulation is not negotiable. It is an obligation under international treaties entered into by the Pacific Island States and a prerequisite for maintaining international and domestic air services.

Air transport is the lifeblood of the Pacific Islands, providing passenger and cargo links to often isolated destinations and feeding island economies through the carriage of tourists to and from the major source markets. Without safe and secure systems in place, these services could not continue.

PASO operates to support and assist member States to meet their contracted regulatory obligations by providing high standards of safety and security oversight and ongoing surveillance.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now invited from qualified individuals with experience and skills to fulfill the role of Operations Manager based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The candidate must have relevant and extensive wide ranging demonstrable experience to carry out the work as summarized below:

The role requires a high level of tact, diplomacy, and communication with participants through respecting cultures and norms of the Pacific region to provide support and leadership to operators and civil aviation administration within PASO member states.

The North East Efate Development Officer is responsible for the operation of all cricket activities in the North East Efate region (Eton-Takara).

                          The Development Supervisor oversees Vanuatu’s award winning cricket development program by working with the VCA development team to promote and manage cricket so that the cricket infrastructure (schools, clubs, development officers, cricket ambassadors, coaches, volunteers, administrators, local and national government bodies) is of the highest quality with the cricket experience being positive for all participants and cricket in Vanuatu prospers with sustainable participation growth.

                          Responsibilities
                          • Plan the development activities of Vanuatu Cricket for the new year
                          • Write and regularly check the schedule for all development activities
                          • Roster all Development Officers to running all scheduled development activities
                          • Make sure that all Development Officers are working as written in their job descriptions
                          • Ensure all Development Officers provide written planned activities prior to an event
                          • Ensure that all contacts at all schools and communities are aware of development activities that shall be held
                          • Ensure that transport and equipment are organised for all scheduled development activities
                          • Oversee the planning, operation and review of all development activities as required
