We are looking for a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene [WASH] Senior Officer Background to join our team based in Tanna with possible travel required to other sites.
Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include:
  • Responsible for assisting with the design and implementation of water and sanitation activities
  • Responsible for facilitating Drinking Water Safety and Security Planning in communities, including water supply assessments, drinking water quality testing, risk mapping and report writing
  • Responsible for rehabilitating, constructing, or expanding rural water supply systems and sanitation facilities in Tafea Province
  • Supervises WASH officers in the day to day implementation of WASH activities especially during field activity
  • Working with the Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation (PHAST) team to ensure that hygiene promotion messages are disseminated and implemented in all WASH program activities.

          Required qualifications and skills:
          • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Water Supply and Management/Engineering or equivalent and / or minimum 3-4 year relevant work experience, preferably in WASH with an International Non-Government Organisation (INGO)
          • Excellent communication skills in Bislama and intermediate (very good) in English
          • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the particular needs of women and other marginalised people in WASH
          • Ability to analyse intricate information and communicate/report on findings
          • Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills, including the ability to plan and manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines in a complex environment
          • Experience in supervising field teams
          • Demonstrated ability to take direction and to work as part of a team
          • Demonstrated experience in following international standards (e.g. SPHERE), policies, procedures and processes
          • A willingness to learn about CARE, gender equality and women’s empowerment activities
          • Proven ability in managing a budget and/or cash and
          • Intermediate (very good) in Microsoft Office with knowledge in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, intermediate numeric skills.

                                                  Nasi Tuan is an entirely not for profit community development organisation. We believe in empowering communities to mobilise their own strategies to end poverty and hardship. Nasi Tuan was founded in 2009 in Vanuatu by a group of local Christians passionate about social justice and caring for those who are vulnerable in their society.
                                                  Nasi Tuan Association wishes to recruit a qualified and experienced person for the position of Coffee Field Officer.

                                                  Key Responsibilities:
                                                  • Establish a quality relationship with the coffee farmers
                                                  • Conduct workshops/trainings to the coffee farmers and traditional techniques are documented
                                                  • Provide support services to farmers on maintaining quality coffee; to do this there needs to be correct prune/mulching/shading and inter cropping the cleared plantations
                                                  • Liaise with Agriculture Department for support extension services and updates
                                                  • Assist in overseeing Talao Coffee farmers coop operation at Imanaka coffee processing Factory
                                                  • Provide support and service to Talao coop staffs to maintain quality and safety requirements and standard when processing coffee green beans
                                                  • Provide technical support to coffee nursery workers for maintaining quality of coffee seedlings before and during field transplanting.

                                                  • Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in a related field
