This includes operational risk management especially in areas of systems and business continuity, in developing and maintaining a high level of risk awareness disaster preparedness, and physical security consciousness within the business units.

The Unit provides accounting services to the bank in the areas of Financial reporting, Management reporting, Financial analysis, tax compliance, special projects, adherence to accounting policies, provide statistical information to central Bank, provide accounting services to BSP Group and providing overview of payroll and payments to the bank's suppliers. The Finance Manager is primarily required to assist the Country Head and Head of Finance at BSP Head office with overall efficient operation of Finance and supervision of accounting services.

              The roles and responsibilities of the successful incumbent include:
              • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts with variance commentary together with analysis
              • Compliance with both IFRS and local regulatory requirements
              • Supervise the preparation of the annual financial statements and liaise with the external auditors
              • Assist in the preparation of the rolling forecast
              • Supervise the preparation of all Regulatory Returns required to the relevant central banks and regulators
              • Supervise the preparation and submission of all monthly and yearly Tax returns
              • Manage in country BSP reconciliation approval process (WRAP) and monitor & update accounting procedures on a continuing basis
              • Supervise timely Accounts Payable and Payroll Processing with follow up analysis and review
              • Provide overview of the Fixed Asset Register
              • Carry out other duties as directed by the Country Head and Head Office Finance Team in PNG.
