We are looking for a WASH Officer to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to outer islands.
This position is responsible for the technical implementation and operation of the desalination activities as well as assisting with the jerry can distributions and facilitating the fuel delivery to the Provincial Disaster Committee (PDC). The successful candidate would ideally have a background in mechanics and experience organising groups and coordinating with logistics. The candidate should have good problem solving skills and the ability to ensure that women, young people, and people with disabilities participate in and are involved in decision making around WASH issues. 

        Criteria:
        Required Qualification and Skills
        • Bachelor degree or diploma in a related field (engineering, natural resource management, etc.)
        • Minimum two years of work experience
        • Technical skills in mechanics and operation of machines is desirable
        • Strong communication skills and community mobilisation
        • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the particular needs of women, children, older people, and people with disabilities in WASH
        • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
        • Ability to work well under pressure and in response to changing needs
        • Written and oral fluency in English and Bislama; Tanna local languages preferred
        • Ability to work independently and efficiently
        • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
        • Willingness to be based in Tanna with potential travel to other islands if required.

                                                  The Disability Promotion and Advocacy Association seeks a part-time ICT and Disability Project Officer for six months to be located in Port Vila.

                                                  The Disability Promotion and Advocacy Association is participating in a pilot project on promoting increased accessibility to the Internet and mobile phones for people with disability. The project is supported by the International Telecommunications Union and funded by the Australian Government. The Vanuatu Government, through the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulator (TRR) are partners in the project together with the Pacific Disability Forum.
