Job Description:
The Government of Vanuatu, through the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce and Ni-Vanuatu Business (MTTCNVB), has secured assistance from the “Enhanced Integrated Framework” for promoting trade mainstreaming in Vanuatu. The project includes funding for the position of a National Trade Adviser, who will assist the MTTCNVB’s Director General with the overall coordination of the Ministry’s Trade Mainstreaming Agenda, including implementation of Vanuatu’s trade policy, institutional strengthening of trade-related institutions, including the National Trade Development Committee (NTDC), and oversight of Aid-for-Trade projects managed by the MTTCNVB. The contract will be for a two-year period
Criteria:
Applicants must:
• hold a bachelor or master degree in economics, development studies, or related disciplines;
• have at least 5 years of work relevant experience. Experience with providing lead technical advice in the areas of trade policy, institutional strengthening of trade institutions, and aid-for-trade management would be a distinct advantage;
• have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• have proficiency in working with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
• be fluent in English; this is necessary due to the high degree of contact with external donor partners.
Salary:
The annual salary for the position is VUV 5,000,000, with monthly payments.

The Ministry of Communications and Transport, Tuvalu (MCT) is currently implementing the Tuvalu Aviation Investment Project (TvAIP) for Tuvalu, using World Bank funds and this is being managed by the Pacific Aviation Investment Program within Tonga Airports Ltd (TAL) by the Technical and Fiduciary Services Unit (TFSU)

The TvAIP has an opening, for a skilled, motivated and committed Bid Administrator, interested in working and contributing to the development of Aviation in Tuvalu, to become an active member of the Tuvalu Project Support Team (PST) based at the TvAIP. We are seeking a qualified Bid Administrator with a high drive for results, demonstrable teamwork, good self-awareness and self-regulation.

Purpose of the post:
To provide bid administration support to the Tuvalu project support teams, in close liaison and direction of the TvAIP Project Manager and TFSU Procurement team.
These duties shall be conducted in accordance with World Bank procedures and the PAIP Financial Management Manual, in line the Implementing Agency Financing Agreements.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (January 2011 edition). Firms may nominate an individual, but only qualifications of the individual will be evaluated.

    The Disaster Risk Reduction support Officer will assist the Project Manager in ensuring the proper implementation of the “Together, Becoming Resilient!” (TBR4) Project. This project is implemented by the VRCS in partnership with the FRC. He/she will also follow up the different VRCS/FRC activities related to Disaster Risk Reduction and Response. He/she works in close coordination with all Disaster Risk Reduction departments in the Vanuatu Red Cross Society and DRR stakeholders at the national level. He/She will ensure the sustainability and proper implementation of the DRR activities in the scope of the projects timeframe.
