The National Bank of Vanuatu is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced person to fill the position of Head of Operations. The positions is located at the Bank's head office in Port Vila.

The Role

This is an executive role reporting directly to the Managing Director. It is responsible for the overall administration of the bank's ICT, e-Banking and Logistics Support Departments, as well as management of special projects as directed by the Managing Director and Board.

The Head of Operations will manage the bank's ICT Network, core banking system and electronic banking systems. The successful applicant will also be responsible for implementing new technology platforms to expand banking services and micro financial services more widely across the country. The position applicant is therefore expected to desmonstrate past record of successful

project management in the ICT field.

The individual must have formal Information Technology qualifications and a strong working knowledge of bank information systems, supported by solid analytical and problem solving skills.

It is expected that the successful applicant will possess:

Criteria:

- Tertiary qualifications in information & Communications Technology; Post Graduate qualifications in a development field of management will be highly regarded

- At least 15 years experience in a banking and finance services environment; 10 years experience in operational management; Demonstrated leadership qualities

- Good communication and people management skills; Experience in developing country initiatives, particularly in the microfinance or rural banking sectors, will be beneficial.
