| | The Vanuatu Meteorological and Geo-hazard Department (VGMD) and National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) have secured funding through the Japan Policy and Human Resource Development (PHRD) Technical Assistance Program for a large-scale national adaptation and disaster risk reduction project designed to address Vanuatu’s immediate |
| | climate change adaptation needs and mitigate natural disaster risks. |
| | The Procurement Officer will be contracted for one year, with opportunity to renew, and be based in the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Project Management Unit. |

| | Duties and responsibilities: |
| | The Procurement Officer will manage procurement and ensure transparent, timely, cost effective delivery of NAB-endorsed climate change and disaster risk reduction projects in accordance with Government and donor procurement requirements. |
| | Criteria: |
| | - At least 3 years experience in position with similar responsibilities; University Qualifications relevant field or relative experience |
| | - Excellent communication and inter-personal skills; Ability to make clear, structured presentation to a broad range of audiences; Excellent writing skills and ability to prepare clear, concise reports |
| | - Fluent in Bislama and English, with French an advantage |
| | - Understanding of government purchasing procedures and processes, and ability to work with a range of agencies at the national level |
| | - Previous experience with donor financed programs. |
