Since we were founded in 2001, our teams have worked in emergency and long-term development settings in more than 50 countries around the world. Our mission is to support people affected by humanitarian crises. We partner with local communities around the world to provide urgent aid, assist in recovery, and reduce the risk of future disasters.

IsraAID has operated in Vanuatu since 2015 when we responded to Tropical Cyclone Pam, and has since shifted our focus to implement long term strategies for programs in WASH, health and nutrition, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support. IsraAID's work in Vanuatu promotes sustainable and inclusive solutions, giving special attention to hands-on training and community ownership, and working closely with community, provincial, and national leaders.

 

Job Desctiption:

The primary function of the MEAL Officer is to contribute to the effectiveness and impact of IsraAID Vanuatu's Country Program through the development and use of MEAL plans, tools and methodologies. The MEAL Officer will significantly contribute to carrying out data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as ensuring accountability to local communities and promoting continuous learning and improvement within our organisation.

The MEAL Officer also plays an active role in the planning, design, and implementation of IsraAID Vanuatu's programs and Country Strategy, under the leadership of the Country Director.

 

Selection Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Business Administration or other relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience working in program design and monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience in working with local communities and monitoring local community projects.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Skills in data analysis software is an advantage
• Ability to work flexibly in challenging situations.
• Cultural understanding of the Vanuatu context.
• Commitment to the aims and principles of IsraAID.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bislama.
• Understanding of protection-related programming is an advantage.

Purpose of the Society
Founded in 1982, VRCS is a major stakeholder in the humanitarian system. The Society is recognized by the Government as auxiliary to the public authorities in the humanitarian field in accordance with the provisions of the First Geneva Convention. The organization is also one member of the National Disaster Committee.
VRCS has identified Disaster Management and Disaster Preparedness as one of its main areas of intervention with a particular focus on community based disaster preparedness. It also implements a Health Program, whose main components are First Aid and Hygiene Promotion. The organization also encourages Youth participation and promotes the International Humanitarian Law.
VRCS has branches in 6 different provinces. It can also rely on a solid network of trained volunteers all over the country. Around 23 staff members are currently working at HQ in Efate, while around 14 are working in the other islands.

 

Job Desctiption:

Purpose of the job:
The Communication & Dissemination Officer role aims to raise the profile of the National Society and promote VRCS' work through improving National Society external communication channels and strengthening internal communications capacity. The role will lead a collective process to develop National Society Communication Strategy and Policy and build National Society capacity and develop resources in the field of communication and dissemination. The Communication and Dissemination Officer is also responsible for ensuring that National Society staff and volunteers have a good knowledge of the VRCS, the Movement, the 7 Fundamental Principles and International Humanitarian Law.

 

Selection Criteria:

Applicants are required to demonstrate the following:
Qualifications and profile required
• Tertiary qualification in journalism, communications or a related field
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Well organised
• Able to work well autonomously
• Good awareness of the media industry and ability to develop relationships with media outlets and representatives as well as other stakeholders
Knowledge & Skills required
• At least 4 years experience in communications, media, journalism or similar, preferably for a humanitarian or development-focused organisation
• Strong professional communication skills in English and Bislama (French would be advantageous)
• Excellent media writing skills and ability to develop high quality communications products
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience managing social media accounts of an organisation
• Knowledge of the Vanuatu context
• Knowledge of the Red Cross movement would be an asset
• Skills in photography and graphic design would be an asset

The Commis De Cuisine 3 is mainly responsible for complete hot galley preparation like Breakfast, Vegetables, Fish, Saucier or Grill presentation and service to the guests. This will include both Day Lounge buffet service as well as Dining Room menu service. Also at the complete of breakfast service each day, this position will contribute and be involved with other guests food preparation and service as is required for lunch and dinner service.

Required to be involved with general cleaning of the galley, provision loading, help and support any area of the galley as needed, required and specified by the chef and/or other hotel/galley management.

 

Selection Criteria:

A minimum of 6 months' work experience working in a Hotel/ Restaurant Kitchen is mandatory before applying for this role.
