The role works with national and provincial level stakeholders to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls in Vanuatu leading to improved participation and decision making in society and the economy, and improved health, education and livelihoods.

Selection Criteria:
Qualification: A University Degree
Special Business Education: Social Work, Social Development, Gender, Public Health, Public Policy, Public Administration or any Relevant Skills
Experience and Skills:
At least 5 years experiences, demonstrate relevant experiences in dealing with programs of eliminating violence against women & girls

Purpose of the Society
Founded in 1982, Vanuatu Red Cross Society (VRCS) is a major stakeholder in the humanitarian system. The Society is recognized by the Government as auxiliary to the public authorities in the humanitarian field in accordance with the provisions of the First Geneva Convention. The organization is also one member of the National Disaster Committee.
VRCS has identified Disaster Management and Disaster Preparedness as one of its main areas of intervention with a particular focus on community based disaster preparedness. It also implements a Health Program, whose main components are First Aid and Hygiene Promotion. The organization also encourages Youth participation and promotes the International Humanitarian Law.
VRCS has branches in 6 different provinces and numerous sub-branches. It can also rely on a solid network of trained volunteers all over the country. Around 23 staff members are currently working at HQ in Efate, while around 9 are working in the other islands.


Job Desctiption:
Purpose of the job: The Finance & Administration Officer will be the main point of contact or focal point for Sanma VRCS Branch.   The Officer will work closely with other VRCS Branch Staff, other VRCS Staff working under projects and Delegates that come to assist the VRCS example in Disaster, WASH and Branch Capacity Program.   The Finance & Administration Officer will make sure that Vanuatu Red Cross Society office in Santo is open daily from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

The Ministry of Justice and Community Services of Vanuatu oversees or provides support to the following law-related agencies: the courts (Supreme, Magistrates, Island Courts), the tribunals, the correctional centres, child rights, family protection, disability advocacy and services, empowerment of women, and public prosecution and defense services as well as legal advice to the government. The ministry also supports agencies that review and create new laws and safeguard human rights.

Job Desctiption:
To contribute to the achievement of the Organizations objectives by providing effective professional support to the Ministry and Sector Agencies in the promotion of performance-based practices, including coordination and management of project funding, budgets, procurement, monitoring, planning and reporting to meet Government system and legal requirements.

Selection Criteria:
Qualification: Bachelor Degree
Special Business Education: Public Administration, Finance & Strategic Management
Experience and Skills
• Minimum of 5 years in position relating to all or some of the duties and responsibilities.
• Analytical thinker, practical thinker, innovative thinker
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport and relationship with stakeholders an colleagues
• Good character and reputation for ethical behavior
Special Skills
• Computer literate in WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT, Formal writing reporting skills, Verbal communication skills, investigative skills, analytical skills, creative problem solving abilities

Language: Must be fluent in English, French and Bislama
