We are looking for a MEAL Officer to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to outer islands.
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation, strengthening program quality and accountability, promoting learning and reporting of WASH programs in line with CARE’s monitoring and evaluation system with regard to the following areas:
  • MEAL strategy and planning
  • Monitoring and evaluation tools and systems
  • Accountability
  • Knowledge management and learning
  • General duties

        Criteria:
        • Bachelor degree or diploma in a related field (monitoring and evaluation, development studies, humanitarian program management, etc.)
        • Minimum of three years working experience that includes monitoring and evaluation duties Experience working in an international NGO preferred
        • Leadership, organising, planning and problem solving skills
        • Training and facilitation skills
        • Very good English and Bislama language skills (written and oral)
        • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and meet agreed deadlines
        • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point)

        The role of the accountant is to be responsible for providing assurance as to the accuracy of financial records of the NasiTuan Projects on the Island of Tanna.               • Prepare necessary financial documents including entry account software for a designated external accountant to undertake the audit of the Nasi Tuan accounts in Monthly basis
              • Maintain and Keep up to date with Nasi Tuan financial and Assets policies and regulations
              • Liaise with field staffs to organize and procure materials, tools, stationary etc.. base on the work plan
              • Process payments cycle for suppliers and staff (salaries, allowances and reimbursements), recording of allowances and reimbursements, bank and funds management.
