Organisation Description:
Nicon Shipping run several ships across the islands of Vanuatu — and we need a skilled heavy diesel mechanic to help us do it. You'll work across our workshop, slipway, and fleet, keeping engines turning and ships at sea.
Job Desctiption:
What you'll do
Diagnose and repair heavy diesel engines and ship machinery
Preventative servicing and hydraulic system repairs
Slipway vessel repairs when ships are hauled out
Fabrication, welding, and workshop duties
Train and support junior workshop staff
Selection Criteria:
What we're looking for:
Trade qualification in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience
Proven heavy diesel and hydraulics experience
Welding and fabrication skills
Marine or industrial background preferred
