Job Desctiption:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Metalwork Project Manager to oversee the modifications of Landing Craft (LCT), and maintenance of our fleet's vessels. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of marine metalwork projects, from planning and safety management to team leadership and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a diverse team of up to 20 professionals, including welders, painters, and laborers, to achieve project objectives efficiently and effectively.
• Oversee the safety management processes, ensuring all operations comply with industry standards and regulations to safeguard the team and equipment.
• Manage the progress of metalwork projects, including welding and fabrication tasks, to ensure timely completion and high-quality standards.
• Coordinate the training and development of personnel to enhance their skills and performance in welding (MIG, TIG, plasma, electrodes, oxy), painting (surface preparation, stripping, airless techniques), and basic onboard systems (plumbing, electricity).
• Plan and optimize resources, including scheduling of tasks and allocation of manpower and materials, to ensure project efficiency.
• Monitor the logistical aspects of material orders, ensuring timely procurement and availability of necessary resources.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and communication.

Working Conditions:

The Marie Metalwork Project Manager may be required to travel on the company's vessels and work at sea for limited periods. The position may also demand availability beyond regular working hours in case of emergencies or critical repairs

Reporting:

The Marine Metalwork Project Manager reports directly to the technical manager and collaborates closely with other departments.


 

Selection Criteria:

• Degree in fabrication and welding.
• Proven experience in marine metalwork projects, including LCT modifications, and vessel maintenance.
• Advanced welding skills (MIG, TIG, plasma, electrodes, oxy) and painting expertise (surface preparation, stripping, airless techniques).
• Basic knowledge of onboard systems (plumbing, electricity).
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team of up to 20 individuals.
• Excellent planning, resource optimization, and project management capabilities.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and with stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of the project execution.
• Rigid in adherence to protocols and standards, with a strong sense of responsibility and leadership in managing complex projects
