We are looking for a Vanuatu Climate Action Network [VCAN] Project Assistant position to join our Resilience team based in Port Vila with possible travel to field sites.
Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include:
  • Providing assistance to the Climate change advocacy coordinator [CCAC] in general administrative tasks and implementation of Climate change program activities.

            Criteria:
            Required qualifications and skills:
              • Minimum high school graduate  and/or vocational training in advocacy, policies, networking, emergency response, disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change, food security, agriculture or gender projects
              • Minimum 1-2 years relevant work experience, and/or activity implementation with an International Non-Government Organisation (INGO)
              • Good oral and written  skills in Bislama
              • Ability to collect information and produce concise and accurate reports
              • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, including the ability to plan and manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines in a complex environment
              • Demonstrated ability to take direction and to work and relationship building with stakeholders,
              • Demonstrated experience in following standard policies, procedures and processes
              • A willingness to learn about CARE, gender equality and women’s empowerment activities
              • Basic Skills in Microsoft Office with knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
              • Able to work in multi-cultural environment and contribute to a strong team environment.
