| | Job Description: |
| | The Vanuatu tourism Office requires the services of a Communication/Research Officer to undertake key responsibilities within their marketing department. The Communication/Research Officer reports to the Marketing Manager and General Manager and will be the VTO Head Office’s primary contact for Communications/Research related enquiries. |
| | Duties and Responsibilities: |
| | 1) Implement, coordinate and facilitate activities which communicate information about Vanuatu tourism product to international media and general enquiries |
| | 2) Coordinates and facilitates projects and activities related to improving statistical information to be used in market analysis |
| | 3) Manages database capture systems for use in marketing communications and data sampling activities |
| | 4) Developing and coordinating travel itineraries for visiting international print and broadcast media (and travel trade where required) in accordance with current VTO marketing strategies |
| | 5) Responsible for the operational logistics of media familiarization on location throughout Vanuatu, escorting media familiar where required |
| | 6) Liaising regularly with VTO overseas representatives and public relations Rep on the development of a media plan to ensure regular press is being produced on Vanuatu, and assist with press releases that highlight Vanuatu in a positive manner |
| | 7) Assisting with additional marketing activities as directed by the marketing manager. |
| | Interested applicant must possess the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Have five years experience in at least one of the key fields of marketing, research publicity and/or communications, especially in the tourism sector; Be computer literate and fluent in using microsoft |
| | programs, email, internet and other related programs; Possess strong oral and written communication skills |
| | - Ability to make public presentations and to represent VTO with major stakeholders; Be fluent in english language, the language of our major tourist market, a working knowledge of french language |
| | also an added advantage; Possess a formal qualification in tourism marketing, research or any related field. |
