The Position
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CEO to lead Air Vanuatu in managing day-to-day operations and enable growth of the organisation. The right candidate must be ready to build and model a great company culture, provide inspired leadership to the executive team, establish a great working relationship with the Board of Directors, and set a course for strategic company growth. The CEO must be capable of bringing together a variety of stakeholders from different cultures to work towards common goals, and be excited by the unique challenges of leading the national airline of a growing nation.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Proven experience as CEO or other senior leadership position (15+ years) within the airline industry
► Masters degree in aeronautical engineering, business administration or other relevant field
► Demonstrable success as a head of a key function with a track record of delivery against key goals and overcoming significant obstacles
► Experience in developing profitable long term competitive strategies and implementing vision
► Excellent written communication and public speaking skills in English
Desirable Selection Criteria
► French language skills
► Experience working with airlines of small countries
► In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices

The Position
Air Vanuatu is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join it's team. The selected candidate will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects the organisation, and will provide strategic financial input to senior management. While keenly overseeing the overall accounting processes, the successful CFO will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the organisation, and support the Executive team in developing and implementing organisational growth strategies.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Proven experience (10+ years) as CFO or in other senior financial leadership positions within the a large company.
► Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting
► Chartered Accountant or relevant practicing Accountant certification
► Sound knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
► Excellent written communication and public speaking skills in English
Desirable Selection Criteria
► French language skills
► Knowledge of IFRS financial reporting standards
► Experience working in the aviation industry
► Clear Police Record

Organisation Description
The Department of Water Resources (DoWR) under the auspices of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, was set up to ensure sustainable and equitable access to safe water and sanitation for the people of Vanuatu to support improved public health and promote social and economic development.

Job Description
In 2017, a ‘National Implementation Plan for Safe and Secure Drinking Water’ (NIP), was approved by the National Water Advisor Council (NWAC).  The NIP is a national framework for achieving Vanuatu’s vision of 100% access to safely managed drinking water by 2030. The NIP defines 2 key implementation mechanisms: (1) ‘Drinking Water Safety and Security Plans’ (DWSSP) which is a community level planning tool and data gathering mechanism that enables the DoWR to plan and implement water infrastructure investments; and (2) the ‘Capital Assistance Programme’ (CAP) which is the financing and procurement mechanism that allows DoWR to deliver water infrastructure projects for communities that have completed a DWSSP. The NIP aims to complete DWSSPs for all 2000 Vanuatu communities by 2030. 

MFAT has funded the DoWR directly to implement the NIP and CAP through Government smart stream processes.  As such DoWR staff need to be able to use smart stream to create regular donor reports.  In addition, new staff have been hired, who need to support navigating the Tender Process.

Experience creating donor reports in Smart Stream
Success delivering tender documents through the central tender board in a short period of time
Ability to produce deliverables on time
Language fluency and excellent writing ability in English
Local Language and/or Bislama required

The consultant will create standard Operations and Maintenance manuals for surface water, ground water and rain water supply systems that can be updated specifically for each system constructed.

Job Description:
Peace Corps Vanuatu wishes to recruit up to two Ni-Vanuatu persons for the short-term position of Language, Culture and Technical Trainers (LCTTs). The LCTTs will provide Bislama language training to the new Peace Corps Volunteers while facilitating their understanding of Vanuatu's culture. The LCTTs will also assist with the facilitation of basic technical skill competencies, specific to the Volunteer assignment. Therefore, experience in the education and health sector will be advantageous. The contract will commence on Monday, 26 March 2018 and will finish on Friday, June 22, 2018.

Selected candidates will be required to live in a village with a host family for most of the contact period. Peace Corps is looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
      Criteria:
      • Successful completion of Year 12, Year 13 is preferable
      • Some knowledge of Educational system and Vanuatu's Health system
      • Experience as a trainer, preferable in language and culture
      • Basic computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
      • High level fluency in English and Bislama
      • A willingness and enthusiasm to share an appreciation of the Vanuatu Culture/language and rural island life with people new to Vanuatu and the Pacific
      • A positive attitude and an enthusiastic outlook on life
      • An ability to understand and follow Peace Corps Policies and Procedures.
      LCTTs who have signed a contract in 2016 or 2017, do not need to apply but must contact Director of Management & Operations and express their interest in writing, to be considered for a LCTT position in 2018 Pre-Service Training program.
