The Organisation
Consulting Vanuatu Ltd manages the Vanuatu Health Resource Mechanism (VHRM) on behalf of DFAT’s Australian Aid Program. Under this mechanism, advisers are engaged to work within the Vanuatu Ministry of Health to provide support in systems strengthening and capacity building.
The Position
This position will be responsible for applying the internal controls of the Ministry of Health's financial management systems and to protect Australian funding from fiduciary risk, with a particular focus on funding associated with humanitarian relief and recovery. They will also provide a final level of oversight and assurance on approvals to spend Australian funds using Government of Vanuatu Public Financial Management and procurement systems, ensuring that expenditure is in line with approved budgets.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Appropriate Pacific-level qualifications in Accounting and Finance.
► Experience managing funds through Government of Vanuatu systems.
► Strong financial management and reporting skills with specific knowledge of financial management practices within the Vanuatu Government.
► Proven management, organizational and communication skills.
► Clear Police record.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► A tertiary degree in financial management and/or accounting is desirable but relevant experience will be taken into account.
► 5-10 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in government.
► Experience with financial reporting and Vanuatu Government financial management information system (Smartstream) highly desirable.

The Port Vila Rowing Club (PVRC) is seeking a Shed Manager.  This is a part time contract position to coordinate and support the rowing program at PVRC. 

GENERAL:
Position title:      PVRC Shed Manager
Reports to:         PVRC Captain

The position description includes

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Welfare and Safety
  • Promote the safety and welfare of visitors to PVRC
  • Ensure the safety of all visitors and the public
  • Teach proper boat launching and washing and ensure all rowers follow standards
Shed Management
  • Ensuring the Shed and grounds are maintained in a clean safe condition for club members and visitors.
  • Ensue the shed always has ample fuel, oil, and cleaning equipment
  • Ensure the shed is kept clean, and locked when not in use
  • Ensure all tools are accounted for and stored correctly
  • Ensuring the club equipment (rowing boats, oars, speed boats, motors, gym equipment, BBQ, generator etc.) is maintained to a high standard.
  • Maintaining good records of equipment needs and purchase requirements.
  • Attend training or mentoring sessions organized by PVRC as required
  • Liaise with PVRC delegate regularly including being available for meetings.
  • Ensure all reportable incidents are made to a delegated PVRC member.
  • Provide support to the Head of Rowing and PVRC Development Coach at designated events or when required.
  • Open the PVRC shed for training no later than 5:15am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and 6:00am Saturday.

            • Responsibility for coaching and developing a squad of highly committed rowers to regional standard
            • Write reports, as required, for the PVRC and VRA
            • Undertake on water coaching and land training sessions as directed by the Head of Rowing
            • Attend weekly training and coach mentoring as determined by the Head of Rowing
            • Support the PVRC committee in the planning and operation of regattas under the direction of a PVRC delegate
            • Open the PVRC shed and be available for training from 3:00pm- 7:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and 6:00am-10:00am Saturday
            • Liaise with PVRC delegate regularly including being available for meetings
