Job Description:
Working as a Spa Hairstylist & Therapist you will report to the Spa Manager and will provide a range of hair care services as part of a routine session, including shampooing, cutting, colouring, styling, and blow-drying. Be able to perform a range of beauty and relaxation treatments for spa guests and must provide excellent customer service to ensure that all spa guests have a perfect stay and that guest satisfaction is achieved.

Duties will include but not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Advising clients on their hair care needs
  • Maintaining and updating client records
  • Maintaining an appointment calendar through scheduling
  • Creating hair styles for formal events
  • Analyse clients’ hair, facial features, and needs, and determining/recommending beauty treatments
  • Styling and dressing hairpieces, extensions, and wigs
  • Demonstrating and selling styling products
  • Learning and perfecting new styles and techniques
  • Shaving and trimming beards and moustaches, and sideburns
  • Trimming, cutting, and shaving hair using clippers, scissors, trimmers, and razors
  • Maintaining work stations and sanitizing tools and equipment
  • Using curlers, rollers, hot irons, and curling irons
  • Applying hair colour, dye, and tints
  • Deliver a variety of spa services (body treatments, massages, facials, waxing and manicure/pedicure) in a safe and comfortable manner
  • Keep documentation and maintain clients files
  • Keep entire spa a clean  
  • Acknowledge and respond to relevant customer queries, needs and expectations
  • Suggest and promote retail products or additional services
  • Uphold hygiene standards and follow health and safety regulations
  • Cooperate with and report on administration on any arising issues 
  • Apply best practices and be up to date with market trends.
    Criteria:
    The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
    • Proven work experience as a spa therapist
    • Hands on experience in massage techniques, manicures, pedicures, waxing and face/body therapies
    • Experience in sales will be considered an asset
    • Excellent knowledge of English language
    • Communication and customer service skills
    • Positive attitude
    • User level computer skills
    • Degree or current licence in aesthetics or physiotherapy
    • Able to work flexible hours
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Excellent grooming standard
    • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.

                    We are looking for a Climate Advocacy Coordinator – Vanuatu Climate Action Network to join our team based in Port Vila.
                    Vanuatu Climate Action Network (VCAN) was established increase coordination on climate change adaptation policy and practice. It provides a forum for civil society to share knowledge about adaptation projects, approaches and events in Vanuatu and aims to build civil society capacity and strengthen engagement with relevant Government agencies and development partners. Through the network, civil society plays an active role in providing inputs and views to the climate change policy and legislation of the Vanuatu government.

                    The network comprises over ten CSO members and observers, including CARE. The network is facilitated by the VCAN Network Coordinator, based at Oxfam.
                    The Climate Change Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for supporting efforts to increase the Vanuatu Climate Action Network’s (VCAN) capacity to conduct climate advocacy at the national and regional level.
                    He/ She is required to have well-developed understanding of climate change impacts and adaptation and climate change policy frameworks. The coordinator will use their strong policy, advocacy, capacity building and networking skills to influence national and regional climate policy and climate finance

                    This position is based in Port Vila, with travel required to other locations within Vanuatu and in the Pacific Region.

                    Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include Strategy and Leadership, Program Implementation, Budget Management and Representation.
                    Key Responsibilities:
                    • Will work to strengthen civil society collaboration on policy, advocacy and community consultation on climate issues
                    • Strengthen members’ leadership and representation at sectoral and regional policy forums
                    • Will facilitate civil society engagement in climate related national and regional climate finance process, working with donors to ensure that climate finance builds the resilience of vulnerable communities and promotes gender equality. 
                    • Will be a focal point for collaboration between VCAN and the Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN), who will be providing assistance to VCAN with regional climate change policy and climate action advocacy.

                          The URA is seeking to engage an individual to the position of Office Manager for a period of one (1) year with renewal subject to performance. The annual remuneration for this position is in the range of Vatus 1.5 to 2 million per annum. The successful candidate will be placed in the Luganville, Santo Office.  

                           About the Utilities Regulatory Authority
                          The URA was established under the Utilities Regulatory Authority Act No. 11 of 2007. The Authority acts independently of the Government and its primary purpose is to increase access to safe, reliable and affordable electricity and water services, and to promote the long-term interests of consumers throughout Vanuatu. In addition, the Authority assists to resolve consumer complaints and disputes and advises the Government on matters related to electricity and water. It also reviews tariffs under the rules of the Concessions Agreements and relevant legislation.
