Job Description: 
The Vanuatu Red Cross Society, working jointly with the support of the French Red Cross, is seeking applications from dynamic and highly motivated persons to immediately fill up the following position. 

          Criteria:
          Applicants are required to demonstrate the following:
          • Demonstrated experience and competencies in at least two (2) of the following sectors:
          1. Construction with industrial materials (concrete, cement blocks, metallic roofing)
          2. Traditional construction : wood structure, wood and local materials walls and roofing
          3. Management of construction team, supervision of simultaneous multiple construction site 
          4. Construction activities scheduling, reporting
          • University graduate in construction sectors or field related will be an asset
          • Ability and flexibility to travel regularly, particularly in the North of Tanna Island
          • Ability and flexibility to live 5 days a week in the communities
          • Understanding of disaster risk reduction strategy
          • Driving license required
          • Good computer skills (Word, Excel), good command of AutoCAD will be an asset
          • Good communication, drafting and presentation skills
          • Team management, training and facilitation skills
          • Interest in sharing professional skills as well as learning from others
          • Knowledge of the North Tanna geography and access to the communities
          • Open-minded, dynamic and flexible
          • Bislama + English and/or French speaker required
          • Knowledge of Red Cross movement will be an asset.

          The Organisation
          Consulting Vanuatu manages the Vanuatu Health Resource Mechanism (VHRM) on behalf of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Aid Program.
          The Position
          The Ministry of Health's (MoH) Village Health Worker Program (VHWP) is a key program for primary healthcare in rural and remote areas.

          A Technical Adviser is sort by the MoH to support the development of a phased transition plan towards integration of the Program into the MOH. The Adviser will be required to develop strategies for strengthening management systems and leadership of the program, with explicit milestones for transition and training over a defined time period. The VHWP management will require support to manage the transition, strengthen institutional knowledge and internal systems.
          Essential Selection Criteria
          ► Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health or other relevant field
          ► Experience in working with community-based primary health care programs in Vanuatu or similar development nation context, particularly in Asia / Pacific Region
          ► Demonstrated experience in building the capacity of others within a Public Health setting
          ► Practical application of Monitoring and Evaluation concepts, terms, methodology and frameworks
          ► Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to contribute as effective team member
          Desirable Selection Criteria
          ► Experience working within the Government of Vanuatu, and knowledge of the VHWP would be desirable.
          ► Excellent computer skills including experience with the full range of MS Office programs.
          ► Excellent written communication
          ► Able to communicate in Bislama, both written and oral

                We are looking for a WASH Team Leader to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province.
                The Water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH) Project Team Leader will organise WASH Officers to undertake field activities in Tafea province. The successful candidate will have a proactive, results-oriented approach and experience working within the water, sanitation and hygiene/health sector.
                The WASH Team leader will have the ability to plan activities and budgets and manage team members to implement multiple WASH activities across Tafea Province.
                The post will be responsible for the design, implementation, follow up and evaluation of WASH activities in communities, schools and health facilities targeted by CARE International.
                Key Responsibilities:
                • Day to day planning and management of vehicles, equipment and staff (including WASH Officers, volunteers, casual labourers, technicians and hygiene promoters) for the following activities:
                • Basic budget planning and monitoring
                • Communicate clear instructions to team members
                • Monitor team members' participation to ensure activities are being implemented according to plans
                • Activity Reporting
                • Coordination with stakeholders undertaking WASH including government departments, NGOs etc
                • Proactively promote a safe and secure work environment; foster a culture of safety and security awareness and consistently follow all CARE safety and security policies, procedures and directives
