Digicel is seeking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of ICT Field Engineer. Please ensure you include the reference ICT Engineer in the subject line of your email.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all ICT transmissions circuits within a specific region, to ensure 100% availability of services to Digicel customers

2) Physical installation, fault troubleshooting & monitoring of environmental factors, and grounds to include earth connections

3) Testing and commissioning of new microwave links at both Digicel tower sites, and Digicel customer sites

4) Physical implementation & orientation of antennae (at height)

5) Battery routine (check distilled water level, measure battery voltage, ensure batteries are being charged correctly)

6) Testing of microwave links

7) Driving vehicles for long distances, through rough and sometimes treacherous terrain and at odd hours without basic amenities (i.e. bathroom facilities, running water etc.)

8) Performance of routine procedures to maintain stability of Digicel Network.

- Diploma in electrical/electronic engineering; At least 2 years experience in maintenance of telecommunications network; Experience on operation and maintenance of microwave transmission systems

- Ability to work unsupervised and deals with multiple priority assignments simultaneously; Knowledge of radio transmitter, receivers and antennae

- Good team player with excellent communication with interpersonal skills; Ability to operate calibrated test equipment eg. BER test set, RF power meter, spectrum analyser, frequency counter, site

master; Knowledge of CD and AC power systems.
