The Vanuatu Meteorological and Geo-hazard Department (VGMD) and National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) have secured funding for a large-scale national adaptation and disaster risk reduction project designed to address Vanuatu’s immediate climate change adaptation needs and natural disaster risks.

The M&E Advisor will work with the PMU M&E Officer to develop M&E processes for the newly established NAB (National Advisory Board for Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction).

The M&E specialist will be contracted initially for 6 months and be based in the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Project Management Unit within VMGD.

The Pacific Forum Education Ministers’ have raised the issue of quality education in the region and have acknowledged the role of the school principals as agents to fostering quality education in schools. In 2009 the Ministers have asked the developing partners to develop a set of professional standards to guide the day to day work of school

principals throughout the Pacific.

The Pacific Professional Standard for School Principals (PPSSP) was therefore established.

3) To plan and facilitate a capacity development workshop (5 day) before 30th June 2013 in collaboration with UNESCO and MOE in Vanuatu and present a workshop programme

4) To provide a report after the completion of the workshop detailing the programme and incorporating the changes to the performance standards and indicators as suggested in the workplace to the Performance Standards for Principals.
