| | The Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu wish to recruit for Church and Society a suitable person who can assume the responsibility of a Secretary of Church. For additional information, please contact the address below. |
| | Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Organize and coordinate committee meetings and implement decisions of the National General Assemblies, the Executive and other organs of the church |
| | 2) Organize series of training of trainers for community facilitators and assist them to conduct workshops and seminars on Good Governance and leadership |
| | 3) Work with the trainers or community to facilitators to improve and enhance the quality of leaders and governance of the churches |
| | 4) Undertake research that will support the church to develop change or new policies |
| | 5) Collaborate with other national, regional and international civil society agencies, to carry out in depth research, engagement and discussions on globalization and trade in order to make effective decisions |
| | 6) Facilitate the establishment, reaffirmation and legalization of the common purpose of the existence of the Government and the Christian Churches in Vanuatu |
| | 7) Under the direction of the committee, continue to assist PCV to promote good collaboration between VCC and VANGO to ensure Vanuatu Government promotes just trade, economic justice and proper politics |
| | 8) Liaise with and manage monitoring and evaluation program requirements of trainers or community facilitators. |
| | Interested applicant must possess the following: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Be a post graduate diploma or degree holder in social development studies or public administration and management or at least 5 years experience in those fields; Have proven experience in |
| | providing leadership and guidance and be willing to enforce PCV code of conduct |
| | - Be able to approach and work with a range of stakeholders including community leaders, Aid donors, Partner churches and Government officials; Be able to travel to and work in remote communities |
| | for long periods |
| | - Have some special or general education and knowledge in Theology, Church History, Globalization and Trade, Vanuatu History, National and International Politics, Economics and Vanuatu |
| | Constitution and laws; Be computer literate or willing to learn to acquire excellent computer skills in Microsoft office etc |
| | - Have some knowledge of governance systems, rules and structure of PCV and the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu; Be a person of good standing and integrity, and without previous incident of |
| | misconduct |
| | - Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at the national and regional level; Ability to work in a demanding team environment with an open mind and positive attitude and work ethic; Must be |
