Job Desctiption:
We are seeking to recruit 1 heavy duty mechanic. The position requires a self-motivated person
Selection Criteria:
• At least 10 years of full-time mechanical work experience repairing heavy-duty trucks and/or construction equipment that demonstrates the ability to perform the primary duties of the job;
• Vocational certificate in repair of heavy duty automotive or diesel equipment, or journey level status;
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team;
• Skill in dealing tactfully and courteously with courteously with co-workers and customers;
• Ability to follow and provide written and oral instructions;
• Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information;
• Must be able to work odd hours, under pressure, efficient and trustworthy;
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of diesel engines and gas engines in small trucks and cars. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain drive train components, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, hydraulic and air brakes, suspension systems and a variety of clutches on trucks and related equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain hydraulic systems, undercarriages, tracks, sprockets, cutting edges, rollers, cooling systems, undercarriages, tracks, sprockets, cutting edges, rollers, cooling systems and all power train components on heavy construction equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain Caterpillar electronics and use a computerized scan program.
• Experience in a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) would be a distinct advantage.
