The Utilities Regulatory Authority (URA) - is recruiting for a Chief Economist - Utility Regulation for a one (1) year contract, renewable for another year and seeking expression of interests for this position.

The primary responsibilities of the Chief Economist - Utility Regulation include, but are not limited to the economic regulation of water and electricity subject to the Utilities Regulatory Authority Act No. 11 of 2007.

About the Utilities Regulatory Authority: The URA was set up under the Utilities Regulatory Authority Act No. 11 of 2007. The Authority acts independently of the Government and its primary purpose is to increase access to safe, reliable and affordable electricity and water services, and to promote the long-term interests of consumers throughout Vanuatu. In addition, the Authority

manages consumer disputes and advises the Government on matters related to electricity and water. It also reviews tariffs under the rules of the Concessions Agreements and relevant legislation.

The successful candidate for the position is expected to fulfil the following requirements:

- An advanced degree in economics and finance/accounting /engineering' At least 8 years in applied economic analysis, financial modelling, consulting and project management
