Vanuatu Red Cross Society is looking to recruit a female Health Officer to work in their community based health programs. The role will be based in Port Vila with regular travel to the outer islands.

Duties and responsibilities:

1) The health officer is required to work closely with VRCS staff and volunteers.

2) Organize and facilitate first aid and health/sanitation/hygiene workshops with remote communities

3) Ensure programs are implemented in line with program design, log frame and budget

4) Coordinate and participate in regular monitoring and evaluation of programs

5) Ensure that funds are managed effectively and are fully acquitted

6) Provide ongoing support to volunteers and community committees

7) Provide regular internal reports and assist in collaborating external donor reports.

- A year 13 school leaver with 5 or more years experience in public health or nursing

- First aid certificate in comprehensive level; Ability to travel extensively, often unaccompanied

- Understanding of issues related to first aid, hygiene, water and sanitation in remote communities; Driving license that is not expired.
