Job Desctiption:
The USP Emalus Campus delivers the University’s strategic objectives locally and supports Vanuatu, as a USP Member Country, in the social, economic, and cultural development of its students and communities. The University is seeking to appoint a Laboratory Technician. The appointee will join the team of technicians servicing the laboratory component of all Undergraduate and PTAFE courses. The successful candidate is expected to have a good working knowledge of apparatus and instruments typically used in teaching laboratories. Furthermore, he or she must be well-versed or at least familiar with emergency evacuation actions and general OHS policies and procedures. The appointee will assist the other technician and staff in the safe and efficient operation of the teaching laboratories.
Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or any other relevant field, or
Diploma in Laboratory Technology with 2 years relevant experience in working in a teaching laboratory, with knowledge of OHS and emergency evacuation procedures or
Completion of a post-trades certificate or advanced certificate and 5 years of relevant experience or
An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
Expert in equipment maintenance and repair
Computer and IT skills

Salary:
VUV1,983,393.08 to VUV2,384,756.48 per annum
