The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce & Industry is seeking to recruit a Ni Vanuatu citizen for the Advocacy Officer.

The Employers Trade Promotion Unit is expanding its Employers Trade Promotion Advocacy Unit to assist employers and entrepreneurs in Vanuatu. The Employers Trade Promotion Advocacy Unit scope is to provide broad support in terms of advocacy and policy to employers and entrepreneurs needs and interests in administrative work for the Vanuatu Employers Organisation (VEO), the National Tripartite Labor Advisory Council (TLAC), the Business Associations members of VCCI, including information network and information development and dissemination, as well as trade and promotion.

Job Requirements:
The person will carry out tasks assisting the Employers Trade Promotion Manager in advocacy tasks including administrative tasks, developing, implementing, and coordinating programs and delivering services, information network among employers and interest groups, information development and dissemination on Employment and other Labour Acts through hand out material and other communication tools. The person will also carry out tasks in trade and promotion.

  • Hold a degree in Marketing and Communication, Journalism, Law, Industrial Relations, Business Management, Commerce or a related field

              The Skills for Economic Growth Program (TVET Program) aims to better link skills development services to economic outcomes for participants within a nationally-recognized system. In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training, Provincial Skills Centres have been established in SANMA, MALAMPA TORBA and TAFEA provinces. These centres regularly engage Training providers and Industry Coaches to deliver skill development services in response to priority areas of economic demand and small business growth.

              The Program is now seeking expression of Interest from specialists to join its Industry Coaches and Trainers database in its Skills for Handicraft sub-program for the delivery of short-term inputs.
              Coaches and Trainers are required in the following fields:
              • Small Business Management 
              • Designing, Arts & Crafts and Product Development 
              Criteria:
              We are looking for people who are:
              • Passionate about working and developing rural communities in Vanuatu
              • Ideal candidates should have experience successfully managing small business preferably in handicrafts
              • Passionate about designing products and using their creative and artistic skills to produce handicrafts that are targeted towards tourist markets
              • Have some commercial experience taking product ideas from concepts to sales
              • Speaks Bislama and willing to travel to the outer islands of Vanuatu
              • A formal qualification in Arts, Design and Product Development would be an advantage but not obligatory
