Job Description:
The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is the national governing body for the game of cricket in Vanuatu and one of the country’s leading sporting organisations. The association is now welcoming applications for the position of Media Officer based in the nation’s capital, Port Vila.

The Media Officer provides the public face and voice of the organisation, aimed at generating positive interest, media attention and knowledge of Vanuatu cricket. The Media Officer is responsible for the promotion and publicity of VCA initiatives, as well as the media management of all VCA events, including men’s, women’s, junior and development tournaments. The main communication is via media releases, as well as social media and the Vanuatu Cricket website. The Media Officer’s other major responsibility is maintaining positive relationships with VCA corporate partners including sponsors.

Responsibilities
  • Plan the VCA’s media and promotions for the new year
  • Writing, editing, and assisting all VCA Staff in media production
  • Produce a monthly newsletter
  • Write reviews of all matches played in Port Vila, North Efate, Tanna, Santo and Malekula
  • Write previews of all matches played in Port Vila, North Efate, Tanna, Santo and Malekula
  • Maintain the VCA Website
  • Maintain the VCA Facebook Page
  • Maintain the VCA YouTube Channel
  • Maintain the VCA Twitter Page
  • Production of social & health awareness message flyers, brochures and posters
  • Liaise with VCA sponsors and partners to assess the best media strategy for promoting their interests in Vanuatu Cricket
  • Maintain positive working relationships with VCA corporate partners including sponsors
  • Other duties as required by Vanuatu Cricket General Manager and Board.

            Job Description:
            The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is the national governing body for the game of cricket in Vanuatu and one of the country’s leading sporting organisations. The association is now welcoming applications for the position of Development Supervisor based in the nation’s capital, Port Vila.

            The Development Supervisor oversees Vanuatu’s award winning cricket development program by working with the VCA development team to promote and manage cricket so that the cricket infrastructure (schools, clubs, development officers, cricket ambassadors, coaches, volunteers, administrators, local and national government bodies) is of the highest quality with the cricket experience being positive for all participants and cricket in Vanuatu prospers with sustainable participation growth.

            Responsibilities
            • Plan the development activities of Vanuatu Cricket for the new year
            • Write and regularly check the schedule for all development activities
            • Roster all Development Officers to running all scheduled development activities
            • Make sure that all Development Officers are working as written in their job descriptions
            • Ensure all Development Officers provide written planned activities prior to an event
            • Ensure that all contacts at all schools and communities are aware of development activities that shall be held
            • Ensure that transport and equipment are organised for all scheduled development activities
            • Oversee the planning, operation and review of all development activities as required
            • Work with the Media Officer to write regular press releases about Vanuatu Cricket’s development activities
            • Conduct a weekly development staff meeting
            • Organise and facilitate all Port Vila school competitions
            • Develop a personal development program for development officers and ensure it’s effective implementation
            • Ensure all school competition scorecards are entered into CricHQ
            • Ensure that grounds are marked, stumps/bails, score books, stationery, scoreboards and balls are organised prior to competition
            • Ensure that there are umpires and scorers rostered on for each match of the school competitions
            • Ensure that the Vanuatu CricHQ website is regularly updated and liaise with CricHQ on behalf of the Vanuatu Cricket Association
            • Assist schools with team trainings prior to competitions
            • Carry out promotion activities with/for Vanuatu Cricket sponsors
            • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the General Manager and Board
            • Other duties as required by Vanuatu Cricket General Manager and Board.

                        1. The East Santo Development Officer is responsible for developing cricket in Region 4 schools and communities in the East Santo region.
                        2. The South Santo Development Officer is responsible for developing cricket in Region__ schools and communities in the South Santo region.
                        This involves running school programs, preparing schools for competitions, officiating school competitions, entering results into CricHQ and preparing media releases.

                        Responsibilities
                        • Plan, organise and facilitate school programs in  schools in the East and South Santo region
                        • Working with the Sanma Provincial Cricket Development Officer assist in planning and facilitating regional cricket competitions between the schools
                        • Assist in scoring and umpiring finals of competitions as required by the Sanma Provincial Cricket Development Officer
                        • Working with the Sanma Provincial Cricket Development Officer to write media releases on programs
                        • Working with the Women’s Cricket Development Officer via the Sanma Provincial Cricket Development Officer to assist in women’s cricket development programs
