The melanesian spearhead group is seeking a suitable person for the position of media and information officer. This is an important position in the MSG secretariat that requires the expertise and skills of a talented, experienced and dedicated person who will support the director (corporate Services) in the proper collection, management and dissemination if relevant

secretariats information for official reporting and media purposes. The Media and information officer will lie responsible for the efficient running of the secretariats media unit and will work closely with division heads in the proper dissemination of information. The media and information officer will report directly to the director, corporate services. For a copy of the

Criteria:

- Be a citizen of MSG member countries including the FLNKS of new caledonia, but residing in vanuatu; Possess excellent communication, writing journalistic and media skills and be able to speak and write

fluently in english and french; Be ICT-literate especially in areas of multimedia use and website development; Possess a diploma with proven work experience or degree qualifications in the fields of journalism,

language and associated fields; Display knowledge on, and be conversant with current global and regional issues affecting the region and the MSG countries

- Have at least 5 years work experience in journalistic and media work from a reputable media organization; Demonstrate high standard of ethics, responsibility and professionalism in research, media and

reporting work; Demonstrate knowledge or willingness to acquire that knowledge on the MSG and its secretariat program and activities

- Display specific knowledge of individual MSG country situations and development issues currently affecting them; Display experience in local and regional journalism and media work, including linkage with

MSG media agencies and other agencies of choice.

Salary:

A 6 monthly base salary package USD15, 000 (VUV 1,496,250) will be offered with other attractive benefits.
