The Messy Haos provides children from diverse heritage with opportunities to learn about themselves, other people and the world in a space to call their own. Through hands on, interactive and participatory activities and adventures, we nourish children's minds and spark imagination. Messy Haos supports the emotional and cognitive grown of families by giving them opportunities to share ideas through play and discovery. Messy Haos is Port Vila's centrally located hub for families with older and younger children to play, discover and grow together.  We provide educational programs for babies up to teenagers, have indoor and outdoor play spaces and a cafe and also have wellness programs for adults.

Job Desctiption:
The Front Desk Attendant serves as an ambassador for Messy Haos, and is directly responsible for shaping the visitor's experience from their first step into the facility.

Front Desk Attendants are in charge of greeting visitors, accepting payment, verifying memberships, selling memberships, managing the library and positively interacting with children and adults.

They are enthusiastic, respectful and provide assistance and answer questions as needed. They may also be in charge of opening and closing, reporting any maintenance issues to management  and tidy throughout the day.

This is a full-time or part-time position. Applicants must be able to work at least one day on the weekend with other hours weekdays in total approx. 25hrs – 40 hrs a week.

Selection Criteria:
• Excellent customer service skills, with a minimum 1 year experience working in sales, or customer service
• Comfortable and familiar with computers and technical hardware (projectors, cables, monitors, remotes, smart phones)
• Experience in cash handling and credit card transactions

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of Point of Sales systems; knowledge of Kaonta a plus
• Possess the skills to effectively and efficiently handle customer questions and concerns with the appropriate managers
• Welcoming, enthusiastic, engaging presence
• Detail oriented
• Able to accept feedback and willingness to continually improve
• A deep moral code
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment


• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Completion of Year 12 preferred but not required
• Certificate from a technical training school in tourism, clerical work or computer science
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificates are a plus, but not required
