Job Desctiption:

As a pastry chef, your primary responsibility is to oversee the production and presentation of pastry and dessert items, ensuring exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency in accordance with the hotel’s standards. With expertise in pastry arts, attention to detail, and a passion for culinary excellence, you contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for guests and upholding the hotel’s reputation for luxury and excellence in hospitality.

Pastry production
Prepare and execute a variety of pastry and dessert items, including cakes, pastries, chocolates, confections, and baked goods, following recipes, techniques, and presentation standards established by the hotel.

Manage inventory and procurement of pastry ingredients, including sourcing high-quality and local ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste, to ensure freshness, availability, and cost-effectiveness in pastry production.

Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in pastry production, including taste, texture, appearance, and portion size, conducting regular tastings and evaluations to ensure adherence to standards.

Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards in pastry production areas, including proper handling of ingredients, cleanliness of equipment and work surfaces, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled within the specific section of the kitchen.

Has fun cooking and loves his job! Is a sociable chef who likes to work in a small team with different personalities and respects and actively works with his colleagues in reception, office, restaurant, and housekeeping to satisfy the guests to the outmost possible way.

Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.


 

Selection Criteria:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 to 2  year experience in a similar position in a 4* or 5* hotel or restaurant
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written). Fluency in a foreign language is an added advantage.
• Passion for cooking and for continuously learning new ideas.
• Mentally organised and comfortable to work in a high pressure environment.
• Experienced in using cost control and costing procedures (or programs).
• Proven track of ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Highly motivated and passionate about the job and his/her career in the resort.
