Job Description:
Coconut Palms Resort is currently seeking a Food and Beverage Manager to join their professional and dynamic team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the day to day restaurant, cafe, room service, bar service and conferencing in the hotel. As a Food and Beverage Manager your tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage the service of food and beverage within the restaurant, bar, room service and conferencing
  • Coordinate between Food & Beverage and Front Office to ensure that preparations for conferences/groups involving Front Office / Housekeeping have been made
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly restaurant, bar, and conference reports, commenting on key performance indicators and action taken to keep on target
  • Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts for restaurant, bar room service and conference areas
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance of outlets, and work areas
  • Ensure and provide flawless, upscale, professional and high class guest service experiences
  • Analyse customer feedback and provide strategic direction to continuously improve overall rating
  • Respond to guests needs and anticipate their unstated ones
  • Expect and react promptly to guests’ requirements and inquires
  • Actively listen and resolve guests’ complaints
  • Oversee and coordinate all arrivals and departures of special guests (VIPs, SAs etc)
  • Coordinate and manage communication between guests and staff and follow up to ensure complete service recovery
  • Promote all amenities, conveniences and programs offered
  • Direct, coach and manage guest relations team to ensure all standards and operating procedures are adhered to
  • Appraise team’s performance and produce reports
  • Examine activities logbook, assign tasks appropriately and implement control schedule daily.
        • Proven food and beverage management experience
        • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Experience using IQpos and RoomMaster are advantageous
        • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
        • Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
        • Communication and leadership skills
        • Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
        • Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
        • Guest oriented and service minded
        • Culinary school diploma or degree in Food service management, BA, or related field is preferred.
