| | The Ombudsman invites applications for the Public Service post No.0919 for Senior Investigator/ Language Rights. |
| | |
| | DUTIES: |
| | Conduct investigations into alleged breaches of language rights pursuant to Article 64 (2) of the Constitution; |
| | Able to prepare a special report each year to Parliament concerning the observance of multilingualism in Vanuatu and the measures likely to ensure its respect; |
| | Able to translate all official documents which includes all Ombudsman public and annual report into the 3 official languages; |
| | Perform other investigative duties; |
| | Able to correspond with and be the Ombudsman correspondent and contact officer to the Association Des Ombudsmans et Médiateurs de la Francophonie (AOMF); |
| | Prepare and conduct press interviews on Public Reports issued by the Ombudsman; |
| | Conduct mediation between parties; |
| | Accompany and assist the Ombudsman with Public Awareness meetings; |

| | Criteria: |
| | - University Degree/ Diploma or equivalent |
| | - Has at least 2 years’ experience in investigations, is computer literate, good in report writing and communication skills; |
| | - Has good knowledge of the official languages of Vanuatu and is able to translate into any of the official languages; |
| | - Has a good ability to write letters, and to prepare and present reports |
| | - Has good command of English, French and Bislama; |
| | - Is of good character; |
| | Salary: |
| | The salary will be based on the Public Service Salary Scale of OS4.0. |
