The Vanuatu Humanitarian Team (VHT) is a collaborative project set up by a range of humanitarian actors (UN Agencies, INGO’s, NGO’s and the Red Cross) and working closely with the NDMO and other key government agencies. It has been developed as a result of real time learning from the response on two recent tropical cyclones. This position will

support the VHT International Coordinator in the strategic leadership of the VHT, developing VHT plan, ensuring protocols in place, leader the design and implementation of key projects and building good working relationships with NDMO, VHT members, donors and other stakeholders. The intention is for the national VHT coordinator position to take on

overall coordination of the VHT after a 9 months period.

Interested applicant must possess the following requirements:


- Experience in working on emergency responses with an in-depth knowledge of disaster management; Significant experience working in a coordination role including coordinating a wide range of

external stakeholders; Experience in designing and managing evaluative/learning events and processes;

- Experience in managing donor contracts desirable; Formal qualifications or training in gender and emergencies, gender and development or disaster management (desirable); Fluency in spoken and

written english is essential.


The remuneration and benefits package for this position will be competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience.
