Organisation Description
The Melanesian Port Vila is a 3 star hotel with 75 accommodation rooms, a poolside dining area, a restaurant and 3 function rooms catering from 10 up to 180 heads.

Job Description
The Chef should be able to:
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty
• Supervising and training any commis chef working with you
• Helping the sous chef and Executive chef to develop new dishes and menus
• Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of
         health and safety
• Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
Selection Criteria
• Previous experience of at least 3 - 5 years working in a busy kitchen
• Have to be punctual, neat and tidy and maintain high level of hygiene
• Should be confident within all sections in a kitchen operations
• Possess good interpersonal skills
• Be very good customer focused
• Have a good understanding of food cost control
• Be able to prepare all food item to order, following standard recipes and procedures with
   specific time limits
Will be based on the candidates competence
