The UNDP multi country office seeks to recruit suitably qualified vanuatu nationals for the position of UNDP Programme Analyst. The programme analyst under the guidance and direct supervision of the UNDP deputy resident representative based in suva, fiji, directly supports implementation of partnership arrangements between UNDP and the government under the

approved country program, individual development programs and work plans. On a daily basis, the UNDP programme analyst works under the support of joints UN presence in vanuatu and is a member of the joint UN presence team. Contract duration is 1 year initially with the possibility of an extension dependant on performance. Additional information including the

1) Will be to support effective implementation and management of UNDP programme activities in line with UNDPs vanuatu country programme action plan (CPAP) for 2008-2012 and annual work plans

2) Administration and implementation of programme activities in partnership with the government of vanuatu and other implementation partners.

Interested applicant must have the following:

Criteria:

- Masters degree or equivalent in business administration public administration, economics, political sciences, social sciences or related field; Minimum of 5 years relevant experience at the national or

international level in providing development advisory services, hands-on experience in development projects and programme design, monitoring and evaluation; Experience in the usage of computer and office

software packages (MS word, excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages

- Experience in developing and strengthening partnership within the government and NGO Community will be an added advantage; Fluency in english and bislama, french will be an advantage; Ability to perform

a variety of specialized tasks related to results management, including support to design, planning and implementation of programme, managing data, reporting.
